Spa FAQS

Our website has been designed to provide as much information as possible so as to answer most potential questions. If you still need any clarification after perusing our site and FAQ, our Dewa staff would be happy to speak with you to fully answer your questions.

Our hours change seasonally. Winter: Mondays 10-4, by appointment only; Tuesdays Closed; Wednesdays 10-4, by appointment only; Thursdays 10-4; Fridays 10-6; Saturdays 10-6; Sundays 10-4. Please note that the saunas and steam close 15 minutes before the Spa closes.

Use of the saunas is included with your treatment on the day of service. Otherwise, you may buy a Spa Pass which is good for the date of purchase.

You have access to our swimming pool if you are at Menla on retreat, have a spa treatment booked, or have purchased a Spa Pass. Please note, there are no lifeguards on duty.

We provide you with a robe, showering towel and slippers if you have booked a treatment or purchased a Spa Pass. We provide towels for the saunas and steam as well as for the pool. If you’re planning to use the pool, you’ll need to bring a swimsuit. If you are having a KuNye or a Shirodhara therapy, we recommend you bring a hat or scarf to cover your head post treatment.

The facilities are for spa guests only. If you would like to use the showers, restroom or changing room, you may purchase a $25 Spa Pass. The nearest restrooms are at the lower level of the Conference Center.

Due to the quiet and healing nature of the Spa, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 13.

Once you pass through the gates at the end of Pantherkill Road, take your first left and follow the road past a pond (on your left) and a red barn (on your right). Just past the barn are the tennis courts, take an immediate right as soon as you pass the tennis courts. Follow the driveway up to the upper parking lot.

We have limited parking in the upper lot of the Spa. There is additional parking at Lhasa and the Conference Center.

Gratuity is not included in the price of your treatment. You may use your credit card or cash.

We accept all major credit cards as well as cash.

If you are a guest who is on the meal plan, we ask that you make arrangements with the Front Desk to hold lunch for you or ask a friend to get yours to go. 

While we do our best to accommodate, we do offer many therapies that must be booked in advance. To ensure that you will receive the treatment you desire, it is best to book ahead.

You do not need to schedule a Spa Pass, but it is best if you contact us ahead of time as we’re sometimes at capacity.

Once you know which day, time and treatment you would like, one of Spa Team will be happy to assist you over the phone or through email. Please note that if you are attending a program at Menla, you will need to find out your schedule as we don’t often have access to them ahead of time. 

You have up until 24 hours before your treatment to change the type or time. Please understand that we do tend to book up and may not be able to accommodate your change.

If your program runs late, or your program schedule changes, you are still responsible for the full charge. We are unable to extend your treatment time should you arrive late.

Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Any cancellations with fewer than 24 hours notice are subject to a cancellation fee amounting to the cost of the scheduled service.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment start time. You will need time to fill out the intake forms and change.

Yes, you can download and print the necessary paperwork by going to the Guest Documents section of the Dewa website. By filling it out ahead of time, you will save time at check-in.

If you are a retreat guest, have booked a Spa treatment, or have purchased a Spa Pass, we encourage you to check out the trails and gardens.

Our Front Desk staff will be happy to assist you with booking an accommodation dependent upon availability.

You will need to check with the Front Desk to see if there is availability.

Our Tibetan doctor is here at certain times of the year. Please contact the spa for availability.

You are welcome to write a review of Dewa Spa on our Google page. You may also write a review on Menla’s Yelp or Trip Advisor. Additionally, if you would like to leave feedback or a testimonial, we have those in paper form at the spa, you can send an email, or print the online document that you can mail or bring back in.  To stay in touch you can follow Menla’s Instagram or Facebook page for updates on retreats and Dewa Spa offerings.

We ask that you do remove your makeup before having a treatment, especially mascara.

Unfortunately, we do not sell our KuNye oils.

Before you get in the shower, put shampoo in your hair (without wetting your hair), wait a few minutes and then proceed to wash it.

Our Swedana steam boxes come directly from India and are an ayurvedic steam treatment. They are not recommended for people over 6 feet in height.

 

Yes, you may purchase a gift certificate for any amount to be applied to a future service at the spa. The gift certificates are customized PDFs that you can forward in an email or print and give to the person. They are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
